This elegant restaurant tucked away on a minor street in Paris, not far from the Arc de Triumph, is at the height of luxury and sophistication and yet has a certain homey, welcoming, almost cosy quality, which is facilitated by the great care taken by the waiters to assure an excellent dining experience and the beautiful décor and table settings. In terms of food the menu creatively and deliciously matches the atmosphere and decorum.

We ate here on our honeymoon having researched many restaurants for this special occasion & it was amazing. Food was absolutely superb and lots of it. Service was incredible without being fawny. Michel came out and met all the diners afterwards. Recently we went to Gordon Ramsay hospital Road and this is in that league. Fantastic.

I was staying at an inexpensive hotel, L'Hotel Flaubert, across the street from this very famous restaurant. I was lucky to get in on a Saturday having made reservations only two days earlier. My meal cost as much as a week's stay in the hotel (which, btw, was very nice tho modest) but it was worth every penny. The food was incredible-- very rich, the service was exquisite --I can't say enough about Bruno, the maitre d' and Alain, the sommellier-- no one was ever obsequeous, but I felt cared for and welcomed. Great evening.
