Finally a Chinese that really tastes like a Chinese. From Dim Sum to Beijing duck every thing was very tasty. A very kind manager who assisted us with making the right menu choice was also a big +. We will come back again.

What a beautifull place to go to. The outside is really nice and the inside was also stunning. Once we got to the table we were welcomed and asked for our drinks. We ordered the Shenzen menu if i spell it correct, and we really enjoyed it. We took this because it has the most variety from seafood to duck. The duck was absolutely delicious and just as it should be. The seafood came in a bird's nest and again we enjoyed it a lot. Another interesting thing is that they have a very nice winelist.
It was just the experience what we where looking for and we will come back again.
BEAUTIFULL!.

The place looks fantastic, very much like a Chinese Palace floating on a lake. Inside, again, it’s superb, just how you imagine an old Chinese palace to look, very grand and over the top, beautifully decorated in an authentic Chinese style.
Now the disappointment, the service was OK, but they got a couple of dishes confused, which might be more down to a language problem than anything. We decided to go for the 35 Euro Hong Kong banquet for 4 people. It was very disappointing the Dim Sum was a small plate of 4 items very unappealing to look at and quite bland in taste. The soup was just boiled water with spring onions in and 4 dumplings which were okay. I like Chinese soups, but this was very poor, no taste. The main meals were not much better, rather bland presentation, overly thick sauces that didn’t taste quite right and as for the duck I have never had Duck as a main meal which is on the bone, so you have to remove it from the bone, which is messy when covered with so much sauce. I also thought the quantities were quite small.
Given the fact that it’s not cheap and with the exchange rate of (1.05 Euro to the £) it worked out for 2 of us with drinks and the set meal at £80. I would pay £40-£50 back home for 2 of us in any one of Manchester’s great Chinese restaurants and get a much better meal in terms of taste, presentation, value for money and service.
Therefore its all looks and no substance, which is a shame because if the food matched the décor and the price then this could truly be a great Chinese experience, but at the end of the day its an overly expensive meal similar in quality to a take away chip shop back in England.
Would I go again, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We came here on the 24th of April and the place was packed. Nevertheless we got the service we expected, when we came in a lovely hostess received us, and pointed us to the table. Once we where seated a gentleman in a suit (the manager?) came up to us and handed us the menu. We took the Sea Palace menu which offers a great assortiment of seafood. We enjoyed our meal and the service and on top of that the beautifull view!!!.
We will come back here when we will come back to Holland

We visited the Sea Palace Restaurant, Amsterdam on 5 March 2009. The food and service were outstanding and the restaurant itself is a beautiful place. We were given a table overlooking the harbour and it was one of the best eating experiences we have had. On our way out of the restaurant, we met the manage who was a gem of a man. I mentioned it was by birthday on the following Saturday and that we may return for a meal then. On our arrival on the Saturday, we were greeted by the manager, who wished me a happy birthday and led us to a table with a spectacular view of the harbour. He offered us a special menu, which turned out to be the finest Chinese food we have ever eaten and, after the meal, a waiter came and set off a sparkler and took our photographs for us. This was all a nice touch and very personal, courtesy of a manager who we will not forget for his friendliness and kindness.

We enjoyed a lovely evening with our bussines partners. They made a special menu for us wich wasn't on the menu. They also advised us on the wines and they matched.
We will come back here with friends and partners.

We came here on 13 februari 2009. We really enjoyed our evening and especially the menu we ate: Sea Palace Menu. This was a very nice seafood menu and on advice of the very kind waiter we enjoyed a very nice bottle of Savenierres Roche aux Moines. This was a very nice combination.
We also visited sea palace in the past and since our last visit sea palace improved a lot.
We will come back very soon.
Keep up the good work

We visited the Sea Palace on Friday 6th February. We were disappointed by the service. My husband's starter arrived before mine. When he'd finished eating the waiter came to clear the plates - I had to say I was still waiting for mine. I had ordered dim sum which I was told took longer to cook - in that case why not delay mu husband's starter so we could eat together? The prawn crackers we'd ordered were almost forgotten about. The service didn't improve with the main course. The boiled rice I'd ordered came out with my husband's main course. A portion of my rice was served onto my plate, which then sat going cold until my main course arrived with my husband's egg fried rice. The desserts did manage to arrive at the same time.
We were both very disappointed by the service, which we could of understood if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn't. It was also expensive - accentuated by the poor exchange rate.
On a positive note the bottle of house red wine we had was pleasant.

I was visiting sea palace on the 17th of January. This was without overreacting the best Chinese experience since i had visited China. The unique thing about sea palace is that they can make excellent Wine with Dinner sugestions. The food was in one word PERFECT, the service is fast and very friendly. In my opinion Sea Palace is the best Chinese in Amsterdam.
Visit sea palace if you gave a chance and you will be surprised as me!!
