Many restaurants like to combine the fine tradition of French cooking with the local flavour and L’Espalier is no exception. However, what makes L’Espalier interesting is that it is in Boston and combines traditional French cuisine with New England flavours. The results are both intriguing and delicious. This chic restaurant is also set in old fashioned Back Bay Townhouse, so the ambience reflects the menu.

Excellent food - but a little bit stuffy with very European style service (staff in formal dress) which feels a bit out of place in Boston.
If visiting from Europe I'd pass and try something more American/modern like Mistral.
