Fashioned like a Japanese country inn, Makoto goes for the full Japanese experience including the requirement that all guests must take their shoes off and put on special slippers before entering the dining room. The meals themselves look so good, you’ll almost be afraid to eat them because they look like works of art, but once you start eating you’ll forget all your previous hesitations and there won’t be a spot left on your plate.

It's like being in Japan. Unbelievably good and authentic.

While traveling in Japan as the guest of a local Japanese household, I was exposed to the vast variety of foods that they eat over there. Unfortunately for us here in the States, finding that kind of food (other then the usual sushi, tempura, and basic saki) is a challenge. Makoto is one of the only places I have found there with the "full dinner" the tastes of Japan are presented in the most glorious and delightful way that is a combination of "Chef's Choice" and your selections.
