Just back from first and last visit to the Ashoka at the Mill. We thought we would give it a try tonight due to its "poppadom play zone" for kids. On arrival, we heard another child saying "I'm not going in there, its too cold". After a few minutes in the restaurant, it was quite clear what she meant. A major lack of heating in the restaurant area with small heaters around the place indicated a heating problem but absolutely no heating in the childrens play area. No mention from staff about heating problem. Requested a large coke and got rather small "large" coke at £2.20 a glass, about a half pint. Opted for evening buffet and found major lack of choices - only 4 hot starters and had to wait about 10 mins for veg pakora to be brought out. Main meals were also lacking variety, no beef, 1 lamb, 3 chicken and some other dish. Rice was boiled or fried but did not look or taste very appetising. Service was very slow. We had to wait about 20 mins for kids ice cream to come after waiting ages to get a waiter to take their order. Asked for a jug of water and this arrived promptly but with no glasses. Kids got coloring in sheets with menu but with no pens to go with it. Asked for bill, paid and left still freezing. Went to car to get a heat. Will not be back. Very disappointing visit.

great food and a nice family room that my kids absolutely love!! service can be a little slow at times but the flavours of the curries make up for it.
